Minnesota Walleye Fishing
Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!
When
it comes to walleye fishing in Minnesota, few lakes enjoy the great
reputation Lake Winnibigoshish has as one of Minnesota's premier
world-class walleye fishing lakes. Lake Winnie offers great
structure and has large numbers of Walleye, Northern Pike, Largemouth
Bass, Muskie, Crappie, Perch and panfish. It is also the home of the
state record Muskie.
At The Pines Resort & Campground we
provide all the things you need to bring home fish for dinner during your
stay here. We offer boat and motor rental, a concrete boat launching
ramp, live bait, tackle, gas, oil and individual boat slips. We can also
arrange for guide service by some of the area's top professional guides.

The
fishing pros will tell you that Winnibigoshish is truly an anglers
paradise famous for walleyes, perch, northerns and muskie. Work the rocks
with bottom bouncers or live bait rigs on the shallow sand bars and reefs.
Follow the weedlines or fish the deep water structures where the big
walleye feed. No matter where you go on "Winnie" you will find a
walleye dinner just waiting to be caught.
Lake Winnibigoshish also has some of the
best winter perch fishing in the world, along with great winter walleye
& northern pike too! For more information click on the Ice
Fishing menu on the left.

Report For
the Week of: September 12, 2011
The best walleye
bite is now on the north shore anywhere from the Dugouts all the way to
Stony Point. Jigs and minnows are taking fish in 7 to 13 feet of water,
with shallower depths the best on windy or cloudy days. Northern pike
are being caught by trolling spoons or crankbaits along the weedlines of
Tamarack Bay in 10 to 14 feet of water. A good perch bite has been
taking place in the 3 Sisters Area off Tamarack Point in 8 to 12 feet on
a jig and minnow with an occasional walleye also being caught.
Grouse hunters are reporting hearing lots of birds, but the heavy cover
is still limiting visibility. The fall color change is now in full
swing, so the leaves will be falling soon. Have a great week on the
water, or in the woods!
