For the avid hunter
the Minnesota Northwoods is a paradise on earth. The
Pines Resort & Campground, located in the heart of the Chippewa National
Forest, offers an abundance of hunting opportunities in the immediate area.
From black bear and deer to grouse, ducks and geese our area is teeming with
wild game! Whitetail deer are plentiful and open season starts in
mid-September for archery and early November for firearms. The
ruffed grouse and partridge seasons begin in mid-September and continue to
the end of the year. And for that "really big game" hunter, the season for
Minnesota Black Bear opens at the end of August.
With 67,000 acres -
most of which is uninhabited - Lake Winnibigoshish is a haven for
migratory birds that come each year to nest and stay for the summer and
fall. Canadian Geese and ducks are popular birds to hunt and waterfowl
season begins the end of September. See exact season dates below.
Spend the "season"
with us at The Pines Resort & Campground and you will want to return year
after year to enjoy hunting and nature at its best.
